The Rally is scheduled to take place from 14 to 25 June 2010
We will begin the Rally in Pontedera, Italy, the home of Piaggio and Vespa, to include a guided tour of the Piaggio Museum. From there, we will ride to La Spezia in the Cinque Terre, where we will spend two nights. From La Spezia, we will take a leisurely tour of Tuscany, spending two nights each in the cities of San Gimignano, Cortona, Fiesole (near Firenze) and then Cascina (near Pisa). The rides between cities will be on secondary roads, and will include sightseeing. You will have a day in each city to relax or tour as you see fit.
The Rally Package includes 11 nights hotel accommodations, breakfast, a group welcome dinner, a group farewell dinner, necessary transfers, van transport for one suitcase per person, scooter rental and more. You may ride one or two up on your rental scooter, and in the case of two up, the passenger will not pay for a scooter rental. Also, riders who wish to bring their own scooter are welcome to do so, and they, also, will not pay a rental fee. The scooter rental agency has Vespa 125cc and Piaggio X8 125cc and 200cc scooters available. Riders will be afforded their choice of available scooters in the order in which their booking deposit is received.
We maintain a discussion forum for participants and serious enquirers, so that you can plan your trip, make friends beforehand and discuss activities you may wish to initiate. All the arrangements are handled by a professional travel agent for us. Click on the ABOUT button above for more on this.
Rally price will be per person, based on double occupancy. Single rooms available at a surcharge. Participants may bring their own scooters and save the rental costs, and passengers riding pillion on a scooter will not be charged the rental cost. Optional hotel accommodations for early arrival and/or late departure as well as other tour options will be available, and can be seen on the ITINERARY page.

A 350 Euro per person (450 Euro for Single Occupancy) deposit will be required at the time of booking, and the balance will be due no later than May 1, 2010. Complete details will be made available via the Participants Forum. All payments will be made to the travel agency.
For reasons of safety, as well as ensuring reasonably manageable group cross country rides, the Rally is limited to 18 scooters. Of course, any rider is free to carry a passenger if he or she so chooses. Once we reach the maximum number of scooters, bookings will be closed, unless a rider wishes to add a passenger of their choice on their scooter.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a tour for reasonably experienced scooter/motorcycle riders. To operate a scooter on this tour, you must possess a current license to operate a 125cc or larger powered two wheel vehicle. Non-EU residents must also possess a current International Driving Permit with the appropriate "motorcycle endorsement". The routes covered and the group riding involved simply do not offer a suitable environment for inexperienced riders. Passenger experience levels are at the discretion of the person operating the scooter, of course.
